March 19th, 2011 v.0.9

News:

- General tips on building a website * (p. 35)
The chapter was almost completely rewritten and I think it now contains more useful tips than it did before
- Known issues and general troubleshoot (p. 45)
A new chapter where I will try to offer a collection of fixes for various problems. Currently discusses what you could try to do when you publish some changes but they don't show up when you visit the site with your browser and a few things you could try when you add some HTML code but it doesn't work the way it should once published.
- Drop down menu (p. 91 onwards)
Basic instructions on how to customize the appearance of the drop down menu you find as the example of a drop down menu on the page http://rapidweaverfaq.org/site/drop_down_menu.html (colors, size, font, ...)
- Toggle, Hide/Display (p. 115)
I added a note on having multiple hide/display which says that you shouldn't have a toggle in an iFrame because various browsers don't support them if they are put in an iFrame and that you should only have one display:block set per page otherwise some browsers get confused
- Zoomify (p. 144)
I think it's a beautiful way to post high resolution and panoramic images on your website. Have a look at the examples at the bottom of the page http://rapidweaverfaq.org/site/zoomify.html
- Shadowbox (p. 150)
Just another zoom effect like Highslide or Lightbox but really easy to use and looks really good also allows to have albums with mixed contents. Have a look at the examples http://rapidweaverfaq.org/site/shadowbox.html
- Tables (p. 171)
I added how to have sortable tables. Have a look at the example in Chapter 2 http://rapidweaverfaq.org/site/tables.html
- Comments (IntenseDebate) * (p. 180 onwards)
Now tells you how to have the box to add a comment displaying at the top instead of having it displaying at the bottom as per default. I also added how to have the comments displaying in a box (FancyBox) instead of having them displaying on the page which to me looks much cleaner. Have a look at the example in Chapter 3 http://rapidweaverfaq.org/site/comments.html
- Newsletters (p. 204)
A new chapter on how to allow people to subscribe to a newsletter, how to manage subscribers, how to build a newsletter using RapidWeaver, how to send out the newsletter
- E-Commerce and business solutions (p. 208)
I added an "easy but not safe solution to sell digital products (E-Books, Music, ...) with PayPal" maybe for some of you it's just enough

Minor updates:

- For a better experience of my E-Book (p. 2-3)
I rewrote the instructions including how you can read the book on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and I would recommend you to read the book in Preview (not in Adobe Reader)
- Basic HTML Codes knowledge base * (p. 20)
Added how to use classes for stylings and line-height in styling for fonts

April 21st, 2011 v.1.0

Not much new content was added in this update. Nevertheless this update makes the book much better in terms of how the content is organized and makes it much easier for you to find what you're looking for since I added sections to the book. I divided it into a total of ten sections. Have a look at the section pages to see which chapters are included in the section of interest and to know what chapters of other sections you may also be interested in. Often something can be used for multiple purposes so you get more ideas.

Personally I think it all makes the book much more user-friendly and I hope you will love it.

Thanks for buying my book and all the best,
Cédric
