Cédric Giger was born on September 15th 1986 in the city of Lugano (Switzerland). Since the end of 2006 he's living in Basel. After studying an year of psychology and an year of economics he's looking forward to become a social worker someday. Aside from cycling, photography and good music he has a big passion for languages. His very own mission is to try to make things easier for other people especially for what concerns website building.
The WebsiteFAQ.org E-Book is not yet available and still needs to be written.
I estimate I will be able to publish this E-Book in Summer 2012. I’m currently focusing on getting all my other projects “done” before starting to work on this one.
PhpBB is a web-based application which is designed to be used as a Forum, Discussionboard or Messageboard.
You will find some websites hosting a Forum for you for free. However most of those services are unreliable and full of advertising. I would really recommend you to install the forum on your own hosting account.
There are a lot reasons why I would recommend you to use PhpBB. Discuss with your visitors offering them a platform for them to talk to each other, keep in touch with people, share ideas, get ideas from other people and more. PhpBB is the most used forum engine and simply works.
The PhpBBFAQ.org website and the E-Book don’t go out to professional Web-Developers but go out to every day users like me just wanting to build a website with a Forum on it. They will guide you through all the steps from installing the PhpBB Forum on your server to setting up and using your Forum.

You may as well... - Just enter some text to tell a story - Mix text with images - Add a music player - Add a video or whatever you want. You can add multiple boxes like this wherever you want thorughout the slideshow. They don't have to be at the end of the gallery.
* People using a Webkit based browser like Apple’s Safari or Google’s Chrome will see a reflection on the 6th image
I think it’s easy to use. It’s very minimalistic but nevertheless looks really good. Especially if you have some panoramic pictures or if you want to insert some text from time to time with explanations.
Instructions on how to customize the gallery and on how to embed it into your page or post are found in the folder you download. It’s all HTML and CSS and the CSS file is entirely commented for you to know what to change where. Sizes and colors are customizable (except for the scrollbar).
The images could also be turned into links opening in the same or in a new window so you could also use it as a menu if you want. Further the gallery does not use iFrames which is great.
Last but not least the gallery works on iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch too.

My very own mission and the goal of this E-Book is not to tell you how iWeb works. That’s pretty easy and doesn’t need many explanations. My very own mission and the goal of this E-Book is to show you what you can do in iWeb in addition to the obvious things. Explain in plain English without using unnecessary technical jargon how to achieve the effect you want in steps which are simple to follow even with no technical knowledge. In other words the goal is to provide you the tools to easily get more out of iWeb.
In this E-Book I re-wrote most of the FAQs you find on my website making them cleaner, easier to read and understand. It is providing more detailed explanations and it’s more illustrated than the website. The result is that the E-Book is even better and more user-friendly than the website.
The book will also save you a lot of time since you don’t have to spend your time searching for a solution on Google and figure out how it works anymore. It’s all there. And if it isn’t you could suggest me to include a chapter about it in a future update.
Does this book work with iWeb ’09? Yes, the book was written with iWeb ’09 in mind. Does this book work with iWeb ’08? Yes, between iWeb ’08 and iWeb ’09 there are almost no difference at all. The only difference is that in iWeb ’09 you can publish sites to different locations and in iWeb ’08 all sites get published to the same location. Does this book work with iWeb ’06? Yes, but since iWeb ’06 has no HTML Snippets you have to add all the codes with what I call Alternative HTML (Chapter 2). Nevertheless everything should work just fine, I always use Alternative HTML instead of HTML Snippets. If you want to have multiple sites with iWeb ’06 you need to have multiple Domain files.

What version of RapidWeaver was this book written for? This book was written for RapidWeaver 4.4.2, RapidWeaver 5 and newer. The tutorials may or may not work for previous versions of the application. Does it contain detailed instructions for the use with MobileMe? No. It only contains a chapter which tells you what you have to change if you’re using MobileMe in general.
This E-Book is currently not available since I’m updating it.
I hope I will be able to re-publish it towards the end of April 2012.
If you would like to get notified when it will be available please fill in the contact form typing “Please notify me when you publish the WPFAQ.org E-Book” in the Your Message box.
Thank you for your patience and for your interest in my book,

Have you ever wanted to earn something in addition to your work? Have you ever wanted to share your knowledge with other people? Have you ever thought about writing a book?
When you see someone who has turned his passion into a profit always ask yourself:
“Why not me?”
(Donny Deutsch, host of “The Big Idea” on CNBC)
Writing an E-Book is probably the easiest way to turn your passion into a profit. It doesn’t cost you almost anything except time. You have no per-copy expenses like in print. A file can be used as many times as you want. You never run out of it.
However profit is not the only reason.
“Sharing knowledge increases productivity on both sides”
(Cédric)
While writing the book you will certainly have to do some research on the topics you’re writing about. This way your knowledge will increase. Besides that when you write something your customers may give you feedback. Maybe their knowledge is greater than yours on some of the discussed parts and they will share it with you helping you to improve the book. Maybe they will ask you a question you donʼt know the answer to but you will try to find the answer and doing so you come across something new and interesting. You may have thought about a particular issue in one way but it could be seen in another way as well. If you share your ideas and knowledge hopefully others will share them with you too. Resulting in more knowledge hence more productivity for them and for you.
You should provide a way for people to get in touch with you. Constructive feedback and criticisms are there to improve your work not to destroy it.
The Writing-an-EBook.org website and the E-Book will guide you through all the steps of writing your E-Book. The Intro discusses why you should write one. Chapter 1 helps you planning and organizing your work. Chapter 2 gives you some general tips about what you should implement in the book and what you should keep in mind while writing it. Chapter 3 is about the actual act of writing and provides basic instructions on how to use Microsoft Word or Apple’s Pages to write your book. Finally Chapter 4 gives some tips on how to sell the book and Chapter 5 provides some useful links and other resources.

“Scrivere di musica è come danzare di architettura.
È davvero una cosa stupida da fare.”
- Elvis Costello -
